Strengthening Tamil Nadu’s Digital Backbone

This project entails establishing a comprehensive Optical Fibre Network in the state of Tamil Nadu to deliver high-speed broadband connectivity to Gram Panchayat users to their respective blocks, talukas, and mantras, thereby facilitating seamless internet access for rural communities. The project encompasses the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the OFN and associated electronic systems. It also includes the construction of Data Centers and Network Operations Centers to ensure robust network management and service delivery. To effectively monitor and manage the network, the deployment of Operational Support Systems, Network Management Systems, and Element Management Systems for the IP-MPLS infrastructure is planned. Additionally, Business Support Systems will be implemented to handle customer-related processes and services. Integration with various stakeholders—including Internet Service Providers, Telecom Service Providers, Local Cable Operators, State Wide Area Networks, and other government departments—is a critical aspect of the project. Post-implementation, the project also includes a multi-year support plan to ensure the network’s reliability and performance.
